MAR10 (Mario Day ) New Release Day!!

I am sad to say that I have not played a single video game today and its Mario day. If Messenger hasn’t updated I would put a Mario gif right here but apparently we didn’t need the option to save gifs from there anymore. Le sigh

Anyway…. today was absolutely chaotic for me hence the late blog post. I had a story I wrote for my Fiction Workshop class critiqued today and that was a rollercoaster. Parent Teacher conference andddd I had to buy new tires because I woke up to a flat tire. I’m sooooo ready to shut it down for the day.

But before I do, here is the arc I received that released today!!

The Deep by Alma Katsu
Rating: DNF

Someone, or something, is haunting the Titanic.

This is the only way to explain the series of misfortunes that have plagued the passengers of the ship from the moment they set sail: mysterious disappearances, sudden deaths. Now suspended in an eerie, unsettling twilight zone during the four days of the liner’s illustrious maiden voyage, a number of the passengers – including millionaires Madeleine Astor and Benjamin Guggenheim, the maid Annie Hebbley and Mark Fletcher – are convinced that something sinister is going on . . . And then, as the world knows, disaster strikes.

Years later and the world is at war. And a survivor of that fateful night, Annie, is working as a nurse on the sixth voyage of the Titanic’s sister ship, the Britannic, now refitted as a hospital ship. Plagued by the demons of her doomed first and near fatal journey across the Atlantic, Annie comes across an unconscious soldier she recognises while doing her rounds. It is the young man Mark. And she is convinced that he did not – could not – have survived the sinking of the Titanic

Review: DNF 40% in. I was very excited for this one. After all a paranormal historical fiction featuring the titanic! I’m in. But it never materializes. It is slow and told from many points of view. The first six chapters are told from point of view Annie, a chamber maid on the titanic, and I assumed it would continue that way but then we hear from another character and many others after that. I don’t mind that but some of the characters are more exciting than others. 40% and None is the story has unfolded.

That’s all folks…. If you are looking for me, I’ll be in my room, making no noise and pretending I don’t exist.

Happy Reading! Do the things for me… comment! Like! Share!
